i made all the cabs myself except for the roses and pearls and the sort ^^ all the cookies, ice cream and stars are made by me ^^

not when its dried ^_^ so its totally safe once its dry. mine is G&E i think. it works awesomely and dries in 12 hours so i dont have to wait forever!

I made some REALLY cute whipped creams the other day but my boyfriend is telling me they're toxic, so they're just sitting in a plastic bag :(

its in a bigger tube, cause i use a caulking gun ^^ its not toxic when dry, im positive of it. otherwise they wouldnt use it in kitchens~! my dad just said that the fumes from it when its wet is whats toxic, but when dry the fumes arent there so its not toxic or anything ^^

hmmmm. i dunno then :< my dad did carpentry and stuff and he says its ok... and ive not had any issues so far with it after its been dried, but if you are really really nervous, post a question on here? i just started deco about two weeks ago so im not an expert by any means lol. <3

ive seen /tons/ of people who sell their things who use silicone, so i cant imagine its bad for you or anything as long as you arent silly enough to try and eat it e_e;

If you're really concerned about it, you should check out the manufacture's safety data sheet. As long as you're using proper ventilation and protection and not using it every single day you should be okay. Also in all the crafting books from Japan they use silicone from the large tubes. Another thing to think about is decotti and decopu don't have any English safety data sheets that I've seen.

I've used 100% silicone from tubes for most of my sweets deco for about 2 years now and really all I've noticed is that the fumes are gross and it can irritate your skin, but you just need to take the proper precautions. I've also tried the Japanese deco silicone and that stuff also smells funky, it doesn't give off the vinegar smell that GE silicone does but it does have it's own weird smell and I felt sick/nauseous after using it. I'm not sure if the silicone was the direct cause of it, but I did find it strange that I was feeling that way after using that product.

I think that just means it's not meant to be submerged in water. It's totally safe, I'd be willing to bet that half the people on here use it because the other options are expensive. Touching it while it's wet can give you poisoning, unless you wear latex gloves or something. And when you use it just make sure you're in a ventilated place. The fumes can be harmful but it's not like you take one whiff and then you die O.O Just use common sense and you'll be fine! :3

*gasp*! How in the world did you make the ice cream look so realistic?! What method did you use? Toothbrush? I actually thought it was real!! The texture and colour and everything?!!! What colour did you use? Brown, white, it looks like you have some pink in it too...!

^_^ i just use a denture brush. (they are alot firmer than normal toothbrushes)

and yup! i used a handmixed pink, brown and white. ^_^<3
